Pick....Rhem.
You enter "Rhem" into the console. "Never forget" is briefly displayed on screen together with a picture of the adorable little guy before returning to the character select screen. Sadly it's an tale you already know how it'll end. And while you technically have free control, you doubt that you can change the end result.

That would result in a paradox, after all.

Jax it is.

Hmm... Seems there are three chapters for this guy- "Childhood memories", "Forging gods" and "Showdown". The second chapter, however, is still locked, and gives no explanation on how to unlock it. Hmm...

Should you start from the first chapter, childhood memories?

Does that mean that the third chapter is unlocked? Go there.

You try, but to no avail. It remains locked, and may be stuck in that for a very long while- Depening on how things pan out.

The rain and wind can be heard howling outside, a storm plaguing the outside of this once abandoned fort. You are writing a diary. While you are certainly not planning on it happening- Or making it easy for them- You fear that one day soon you might die. And that they'll try to hide the fact you ever even existed from the world, as they've done with all those before you.

You hold faint hope that your diary would reach someone.

You are now Jax- You are a mind and shadow mage of a potency above that of normal humans. You can take control of one's actions as if they were your own- And your shadow is practically an extension of yourself.

And you used to be even more powerful... But you had to make certain... Sacrifices, to cut yourself free from some chains, stopping you from your endeavors. Taking over the world. Now, with brute force- As you've amassed a sizeable force of man within the fortress, gained through many different methods.

It's an... Plan B. Or plan C perhaps. Your plan A had... Complications.

You stand within your "throne" room. Your soldiers are hard at work outside on preparing a siege. What will you do?

Really? You mean, you were kind of hoping that this "plan B" would work out- Or for that matter, plans C through L. But sure, you could just skip to plan M...

Where are you going to get the tub full of pickles, a pineapple, and the golden tooth of a dread pirate though?

Who's the siege going to be against? And why are you interested in taking over the world?

The current siege will be against the city of Cardiff, to the west, through the forest. Unless the temple of Asatun to the north decide to get feisty.

But honestly, you expect them to come knocking any day now. Their head priest was good friends with... An old friend of yours.

But when they do, you'll deal with that little issue yourself.

As for why you're trying to take over the world? The fact is simple... You need more power- Be it in raw form from artifacts, or more workers, warriors, slaves, whatever, under your force- It doesn't matter. You just need more power in order to prepare for whatever she is planning for you. And Cardiff is an easy target- Still ravaged from the Scourge. They're having a hard time restoring everything...

"She" is a huge bitch.

Jinx.

The very fact you once thought you loved her now only invokes bitter disgust within you. She is selfish, manipulative, cruel and dangerous. You should have known better- Especially as a mind mage, to fall in love but nothing else but a pretty face.

There is a knocking at the door- One of your men cautiously peaks his head through. "Erm, you alright sir? The... Shadows are acting weird downstairs..."

Weird? What is with this guy? Is he new? Shadows always act weird. Regardless of whether they're busy mimicking a person's actions or not.

"...Weird?"

"Erm... Yes sir. They were... Moving downstairs and I figured that..."

"Are you new here?"

"...A week or so sir. I came here with-" The man says, as you can already sense he regrets coming as he's backing out slightly from the door.

"With those other guys, yeah, I know. But by now you should know this- Those shadows will always act weird while I'm around."

"So now get the hell out of my sight before you find yours will no longer listen to you."

He's gone before you finish your sentence.

You fall back in your chair. You hope the storm subsides soon. You should probably get to work soon...
