Gwen groans, shaking her head, and decides to tell him bluntly what she thinks "You were the one that 'offered' to get inside of me. I do not know what else you could mean asides sex. If that is not what you mean, then what are you talking about?" She ignores Merric calling her out.

The two women prepare to leave the little hut and find Varsk, while Merric-the-fanatic continues to creep Gwen out.

((I'm assuming that's a hard no to Merric's suggestion? :P ))

(Yep. It's a no on Merric's suggestion. Actually she'd probsbly wants to put some distance between him and her. A loooot of distance. In fact, Gwen would probably try to get a head start on searching for Varsk)

Merric continues to glare at Gwen and berating her, glancing briefly at Korrik as he send him a telepathic message.

"Eeww.. why do you keep bringing it up? I already told you it's the same as with Korrik! We didn't do.. the thing you keep mentioning! Clearly the true god doesn't trust you with that much power."

Merric the fanatic might be the best description of him

The women leave Merric to enter someone else, and head out to search for Varsk. They pick up his trail again fairly easily and head out into the night. As the sun sets, the moonless night quickly becomes almost completely dark, with the forest dimming to a dark, monochrome to Syli's eyes. As the darkness intensifies, Gwen's vision actually improves as the dim light gives way to darkness and the forest comes alive with colour again. It's incredibly odd, and Gwen isn't sure she's entirely used to it yet. For her part, Syli notices Gwen's eyes begin to glow faintly.

((Give me a straight d20 roll please. I'll take it from whoever posts first)).

-------------------------------------------

Back in the cave, Merric inserts himself into Korrik's mind instead and complains that Gwen is being inappropriate. The irony, apparently, is entirely lost on him.

Gwen and Syli

About an hour after sunset, the women reach a particularly swampy area where the trees give way somewhat to wet, marshy ground and following the trail begins to get harder and they are forced to slow down and check individual mud-islands to keep track of the trail. It's slow and wet, and the mosquitoes are out in full force tonight, making the whole process arduous and fairly miserable. The stars are visible here though, and Gwen is able to tell that you've been heading roughly south from the tower.

Continuing onwards, Syli is able to guide you around a couple of dozing alligators, but the journey otherwise passes quietly and uneventfully for the most part until you reach what seems to be the end of the trail.

((Give me another survival roll here please (with advantage if you're helping each other), and please each give me a perception roll))

It is about an hour after sunset

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Korrik, Merric, Kal and Mehriv

((Let me know if there's anything you guys want to do; otherwise I'll take your watch order))

It is sunset

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Varsk's first hour passes uneventfully. It's dark, the forest is loud and the mosquitoes are a constant irritation, but nothing worse stumbles upon him and he begins to feel physically better for the break.

((Varsk can take his short rest + 2nd wind if he wants))

It is about an hour after sunset

((There are 3 of us without darkvision, so Kal should go in whatever the darkest portion of night will be, Korrik would prefer last watch. I don't have anything more I'd like to accomplish before rest, unless this retreat can be made more secure from bugs/being spotted, in which case I'd want to do as much as possible on that front.))

It's dark!

Perception;Nature: 1D20+2 = [7]+2 = 9
1D20 = [15] = 15

( (When Merric spoke into his head, Korrik probably would have been somewhat obviously trying hard to keep a straight face.))

As the mosquitos start to get worse, Syli murmurs a brief incantation under her breath and motions with her totem, creating a burst of lemonleaf scent to drive them away. If it's effective, she attempts to imbue some of the scent into her and Gwens' clothing, refreshing it as needed.

Syli... [rolls]
...Druidcraft: Create a burst of lemonleaf to drive away mosquitos.
...Survival* (+3): 18
...Perception (+5): 14

*This can be treated as either Gwen's advantage check or Syli's own independent check; it's identical either way. Based on character, it'd be more Syli taking point, but however you want to run with it is fine.

Merric will do his usual ritual, dunking his head in the seawater he carries with him, seeking his patrons guidance and comfort.
When Korrik tries to bug proof the sleeping area, Merric will ask the bugs around them to leave them alone, he would rather not accidently squash or swallow any of them.

I guess Merric will take the second watch, he'll whisper with any of the bugs that are awake and ask if they see or hear anyone coming, hoping that they are willing to help him in the dark.

Merric perception: 1D20+1 = [7]+1 = 8
Merric persuation: 1D20+3 = [13]+3 = 16

Syli & Gwen

Syli uses her druidcraft to try and deter some of the worst mosquitoes. It is suprisingly effective and soon the two women get at least a little reprieve from the biting insects and a bit of the swamp smell.

With a little searching, they are able to find Varsk's return trail. It seems he headed off towards the northwest for some reason.

Just out of the corner of her eye, Gwen spots the faintest warm glow of firelight, or maybe lamplight coming through the trees further south.

---------------------

The four gents
Korrik and Kal head outside. The hideaway looks perfectly good to Korrik, but Kal spots a couple of areas where he can make some improvements, and with a little bit of careful work is able to enhance the camouflage of the little hut and blend it even more thoroughly into the forest.

Merric asks the bigs to leave them alone and is sure he hears a tiny, whiny laugh and yet another mosquito lands on his neck. The spiders for their part seem quite happy and the tiny sounds of tiny mosquito death struggles and happy, eating spiders fills the space above him.

Eventually everyone settles in, and Mehriv takes the first watch. ((Roll perception please Mehriv))

--------------------

Varsk continues keeping watch.

That post. I didn't realise the request for rolls was for the two touching up the camouflage. Since Mehr wasn't involved in that it should be fine to use the same roll, right?

The firelight is not in the same direction as where Varsk's trail goes.

((Actually yes, thanks for the reminder! With your survival rolls you would have also found a second set of smaller footprints leading roughly south that you suspect might be the woman's.))

"Hey, Gwen, take a look at this..." Syli crouches down and looks at the prints, keeping her voice down. "Looks like he might've been on track to finding that woman, but he doubled back... and doubled back the wrong direction at that. Don't know if he actually caught up to her, but if I'm right, her tracks are heading south to that light you pointed out."
