Re: The Wandering Archipelago (D&D 5e)

Gwen keeps on running, ignoring the aparent shortcut. It occurs to her that she'll probably need to slow her pace soon if she's going to cover the entire half mile back to the tree trunk without killing herself from exhaustion, but for now, she's still going full pelt. The half orc matches her pace easily and sticks to the path behind her.

Syli is suspicious, but to all appearances gives up the immediate hunt and joins in the chase, running off down off down the path after the others and leaving Korrik more or less alone near the camp.

Nothing else seems to happen as we reach the top of the round again, and we're back to Korrik

If I'm not already, I'd like to circle around (as long as it doesn't put me out in the open) to where I have a view into the tent. The other individual is still lying down in there?

((I'd have rolled Perception, but Coyotecode is giving me "account suspended" errors?))

Korrik creeps slowly around through the undergrowth to where he can see the tent. The feet are still visible, but that's really all he can see without leaving the edge of the forest.

If you're wanting to settle in and hide quietly here, I'll take another stealth roll with advantage to see how well you manage to conceal yourself. Coyotecode seems to be back up, so if you want to make a perception check as well you can do that, or I can roll for you if it just hates you specifically :D

I work my way around, drawing on my years of stowing away in cargo holds, and find a spot that no one can see me from. I look up to check out the figure in the tent, but realize I'm staring directly into a tree. I peek around it, scanning the tent and surrounding area.

((How big is the clearing? How far away is the tent?))

((Holy crap! Nice rolls!))

The clearing is roughly circular and about 30 feet in diameter, and you're currently hiding about 20 feet or so from the tent. Ish.

Korrik near enough vanishes completely as he does a masterful job of hiding himself amongst the dirt and leaf litter. Checking the camp, he still can't see all the way into the tent, but does spot what he is pretty sure is a longbow nestled near the sleeper. The sleeper doesn't move, but does occasionally let out a rumbling snore. The rest of the forest is quieter again now the startled animals have got over their fright, and the sounds of the running party begin to get further away.

Mehriv is up I think, then Kal.

Kal is heading for the tree. Especially with the orc going that way. Unless the gnome is spotted or there's a distress call, he's going to keep heading there at the best sustainable pace.

Ok, awesome. I assume Mehriv is also continuing for now (but please shout if you want to do something else) and the half-orc is just tagging along for now too.

Syli is next then back to Korrik.

Yeah, you're right in assuming Mehr will keep running.
My game:
Hunters of Letrua; Character list
Also Player / Monster stats, skill lists.

My characters:
Tugs Tails, the goblin that was sort of a trapper and wears a bear's tail at his neck, for some reason - Lair of the Mountain King (Run by Thinks)
Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)

As far as you guys saw, the squirrel ran away shortly after Syli started speaking druidic.

Syli doubles back on her course, darting off the trail (in a direction AWAY from where the gnome had been running) and circling back toward the camp, approaching from the woods.

((I don't think I need stealth yet, since being difficult terrain, it's going to take a turn or two to actually get back to the clearing. She's going to be taking it low and slow in order to make sure she isn't spotted))

Let's have a stealth roll now. If you're trying not to be seen as you circle back around I think it's appropriate.

Syli Stealth (+5): 14

((I'm hoping Mask of the Wild provides a bit of help with that))

Syli breaks off from the rest of the party and slows her pace as she doubles back towards the camp, skirting around the path and keeping to the undergrowth. Although there aren't many trees here, her elven heritage allows her to blend in easily with the scrub and undergrowth...

((Can I also please have a perception check for Syli?))

(I'm going to say no. Korrik focussing on the camp and lying down, and Syli will be pretty far from the camp still since she's slowed her pace back. If you were up a tree or something, then yes, you definitely would, but you're not :) So neither of you know what the other is doing at the moment).

While Korrik is watching the locale from his hiding spot, a lizard with strange dark markings on its trunk skitters halfway down the tree that the gnome disappeared into. It pauses to look around a bit before plopping down to the ground and turning back into the gnome...

Korrik is up. The gnome is in ranged range, or you could reach her with your movement if you wanted to break cover.

Seeing the lizard/gnome return, I grip my dart and watch her...

((Since she's in range, I'm going to hold action to throw the dart... basically if she looks like she's about to attack the person in the tent, she's getting a dart in the back.))

Korrik grips his dart tightly and bides his time...

The runners are up next. You're too far away now to see the gnome reappear, but I assume you're continuing to run?

If so, I'll take a straight d20 roll from burns (since Gwen is at the front).

Assuming the runners are continuing, I'll move to Syli.
