Randy will make his way east to light the brazier there.

Re: The Sundered Way
As the second brazier blooms into light, there is the sound of stone sliding across stone from the end of the chamber...

Is it possible to hear the stone-grinding sounds from where Nem and Holger are?

((If you guys are both still upstairs, nope. It'd be able to be heard by Zephyr, Randy and Coljin, possibly Ulmwin depending on how close he's following.))

Holger will tear the gem out as if it was nothing, if possible.

Holger heaves on it, and after a brief glow, it snaps free in his hands and the glow fades. He now has a roughly fist sized ruby stolen from an ancient tomb.

Nem shrugs.
"We're here now, we might as well try. But let's not take too long."

Re: The Sundered Way
Holger will try to wedge the eyes out with the dagger from both statues and collect the remains of the other big gem in case there might be some worth left from that.
Not sure if you wanted dex or str so I just gave it a straight roll, you can add 3 or 2 depending on what you want.
Holger gem removal: 1D20 = [18] = 18

Zephyr pauses, holding her positions until the others fall in step behind her before moving forward. "Randy, light the other braziers, I've got your back."

Randy grumbles "It's not my back I'm worried about..."
He'll proceed south to the next east side brazier and light it.

Re: The Sundered Way
Coljin moves into the room another 20 feet and waits to see what the lit braziers begin to show everyone.
He is focusing on where the noise of moving stonework came from.
"If there is another big wave of undead, we should make a tactical retreat and lock ourselves upstairs and make sure we are fully healed again, this is only a scout mission." he says out loud, mainly to himself, but also reminding everyone of the chance for healing and resting. It's not like whatever is down here hasn't been waiting here a LONG time.

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy moves up and lights the next brazier, revealing part of a raised section with two large stone blocks, the one in the center of the room twice the size of the one to the left. These seem to have been the source of the sound of moving stone, as a slab atop each seems to have recessed into a slot in the wall. As the brazier light stablizes, a bony hand reaches up out of the inside, gripping the edge. A hand similarly grasps the edge of the larger coffin, but this hand is much bigger, with pale bandaging wrapped over flesh.
Both entities sit up, the skeleton to the left... while the skeletons above had some odd features, on this one, the skull is flattened, and the lower jaw doesn't join at the chin, sharply toothed jaws clacking independently.
In the central coffin, a figure sits up, wrapped in cloth except the mouth and eyes, the fabric spreading across a similarly flattened, elongated head, and a wide, curving neck, similar to the hooded snake statues on the floor above. The golden eyes look about the room before focusing on Randy. The mouth cracks open and a dry, rasping, sibilant whisper that nonetheless fills the entire room issues forth.
"Sssupplicantsss come to ssseeek my favor... or foolsss to join the ranksss of my army... Ssspeak mammalsss... what bringsss you here?"

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy's eyes widen.
Randy, sotto voice: "Oh, spork! A mummy!"
He sheaths his sword and bows to the figure, with one hand behind his back, in a reasonable approximation of a courtly bow.
Regular voice: "I find that I'm more flexible than I used to be, dread lord. What's involved in option one?"
Randy is franticly waving the others back with his hidden hand.

Re: The Sundered Way
The two figures step over the edge of their coffins... well, the skeleton to the left does, the cloth wrapped speaker slithers over the edge, revealing a serpentine body, the snake-like appearance only interrupted by a humanoid torso and arms.

Zephyr has been watching Randy and upon seeing his flapping hand takes a few steps backward softly. She holds out an arm to the others and turns to let them see the finger she holds to her lips.
