Randy gives a little thought to the preserving method, trying to decide if he has the equipment/supplies to do it...and whether or not he wants to.

Nemeia uses her mage hand to pester the little creature into leaving Maji alone.

(Not sure if poking stuff is a skill...)

Randy starts pitching Jester's Thorn berries down the tunnels around Maj. ((This could either be very effective, do nothing, or be a very bad idea. :P ))

Apparently this is something Nem is quite adept at!

Let me start with the d12 roll you are asking of people and everyone forgets.

Random: 1D12 = [10] = 10

After several days of travel our food supply is still fine, but getting pretty boring and repetitive. Coljin will hope to help that out by going foraging some evening as soon as we stop to break for camp for the day. He hopes the foraging/survival skills he learned growing up in the forest somewhat crosses over to this landscape so that he can find some food that would bring a different flavor to dinner tonight for the group.

Survival: 1D20+6 = [15]+6 = 21

Tess hurries over to where Maji is giving rasping cries of pain, and spotting the holes, calls out encouragement to him while she subtly moves her invisible Mage Hand from hole to hole, blocking the emergence of whatever it is she feels snapping and striking at her hand. As Maji hurries to her side, she moves it with him, preventing any further attacks. ((Up to you if you want to take credit, but no one saw you doing anything other than cheering him on, so...))

[Skills: Nature (S), Nature again (F), Sleight of Hand]

Coljin wanders a bit afield, looking for something to break up the monotony of travel rations, and following some animal tracks, reaches a recess surrounded by stone outcroppings. Here he finds a plethora of fresh herbs and flavorful plants and other edible goodies, and harvests some of them, making sure to leave enough behind to sustain the local wildlife. He scratches a small etching of his goddess on the rock, says a prayer of thanks, and returns to help cook up the tastiest dinner you all have had in weeks.

random roll: 1D12 = [1] = 1

As the group travels on, they eventually come across a set of weathered stone slates off the side of the road, covered in runes and a language forgotten... Figuring it likely served as some kind of warning or notice in ages long past, or at least recalling past events, Ulmwin sees if he can't figure out what they might mean...

arcana: 1D20+4 = [11]+4 = 15

Randy: You head off towards a small copse of trees and shrubs, looking for more of the berries. As you get closer, you notice Jester's Thorn, as well as assorted other berries. As you are about to head further in, there is a rustling above and a twig hits you in the head. "MINE! My berries, go away!"

Looking up, you see a elderly halfling... quite nude... perched on the branch above you, matted grizzled hair partially obscuring his features as he glares down at you. "Go find your own!"

The rest of the party hears shouting from the direction Randy went.

[Failures: 1]
[Skills: Nature (S), Nature again (F), Sleight of Hand, Survival]

((I'll insert Ulmwin's once you're entering the desert, it fits better with what I have in mind there, but for now someone could help Randy deal with the angry naked halfling with some sort of check.))

"Ummm....Hello? Who are you?" Randy checks for evidence that the old codger is high as a kite on Jester's Thorn.

He seems quite mad, but lucidly so. You'd judge that he's not currently tripping on berries.

Randy will back a bit away from the crazy Halfling so that he's out of range of sticks.

He makes a shooing gesture, and once you're far enough away, he scurries down and begins plucking berries, dropping them into a leather pouch as he occasionally glares at you.

Hearing the shouting over the way that Randerwaith went, Coljin will hustle over to see what is going on?
It's been days since they've seen other people, so this might be some sort of trouble, he will draw his mace and get his shield readied as he heads over to investigate.

You see a naked, dirty, hairy halfling shooing Randy away from "HIS berries".

When Randy sees Coljin hurrying up, he waits until the Halfling isn't looking and then circles his finger around his ear. He'll stop immediately if the Halfling looks back up at him.

Coljin nods when he sees Randy's motion to him, and seeing that Randy is not in full attack mode, Coljin will place his mace back in his belt and keep his shield on arm, but lower it, to look less threatening.

"Greetings, sir. We are not here to take anything away from you, no fear. We just have not seen anyone else for days while we were traveling. Do you live near here, or a traveler like us?"

"Hrrm? Used to be a traveler, I was, now I live here, yes, yes."

The wagon veers as Bramble gets an idea to go after some berries, but you just manage to get the mule facing forward again, keeping the wagon on the road.
