Zephyr feels her muscles seize up as she becomes paralyzed. A gloating hiss sounds from Zihuassal.
"I would ssstill sssee you grovel before I kill you.", he gestures to his skeletons.

Re: The Sundered Way
I assume I can see snake arms, Randy and Zephyr once I get near the entrance.
Holger will shoot a fancy fire bolt at the undead as he announces himself. Also use his bonus action to make a new spell slot from his sorcery points
"What kind of trouble have you two started without consulting me first?"
Holger fire bolt: 1D20+6 = [19]+6 = 25
Fire bolt damage: 1D10 = [4] = 4

((Since nothing Randy rolls can affect things at the moment, I'm proceeding with things downstairs.))
Responding to his master, the snake-headed skeleton strides forward and grasps Zephyr by the back of the neck, lifts her up and slams her face first to the ground. (Taking... 1 bludgeoning damage).
She lies there, paralyzed and unmoving as Zihuassal nods in approval.

Re: The Sundered Way
Zephyr remains firmly in the grip of his paralysis, unable to wipe move, much less wipe the trickle of blood dripping from her nose to the sandy floor.
The swarm of snakes crawl over her, tongues flicking in her ears, a few tasting the blood as it drips. If she were able to, she'd likely close her mouth and shut her eyes, but she is not, and they are subjected to inquisitive snakey faces.
The snake armed skeleton stands down, watching his Master for instructions.
Zihuassal slithers closer, moving into Zephyr's line of sight.
"You really sshould have groveled when you had the chanssce."
She sees his eyes glow and begin to warp and warble, the whole world shifting around her...

Re: The Sundered Way
You feel terror creeping into the edges of your mind, but are able to steel yourself, and it passes. You're no more terrified than one has a right to be while paralyzed, covered in snakes and flanked by a pair of skeletal abominations while an overstuffed snake/man mummy gloats at them...
He looks irritated that you don't seem more cowed.

Re: The Sundered Way
((Pheww!))
Randy's breaths come easier as he's stabilized for the time being.
The snake-head skeleton places his scimitar on Zephyr's back at a gap in her armor and just leans on it.
Snake Head Skeleton: Scimitar: Zephyr: 2D20.HIGH(1)+5 = [15, 12]+5 = 20
Snake Head Skeleton: Scimitar: Zephyr: 2D6+3 = [4, 4]+3 = 11
Zephyr can feel the blade sliding slowly into her, unable to move, unable to respond, unable to scream or shout in pain as it slowly makes its way into her flesh. She feels short of breath, the blood pooling on the floor as the scimitar is withdrawn.

Re: The Sundered Way
Zephyr collapses the rest of the way to the floor, no longer supported by her paralyzed limbs, she's able to move once again.
Holger arrives near the bottom of the ramp, just past Maji, and is able to make out a big skeleton with long, multi-jointed arms, tipped with what look like skulls?! Probably not a good thing, and worth shooting with fire.
He can just make out half of Zephyr as she lies in a pool of blood.
The snakes slither off Zephyr and as one move up into the tunnel, twining around Holger's feet, tongues flicking as they assess the new arrival.
The snake-armed skeleton that he just shot charges up to Holger, lashing out with two snakey arms.
Snake Arms: Bites on Holger: 1D20+5 = [11]+5 = 16
1D20+5 = [12]+5 = 17
((Any reaction from Holger before I roll damage?))
((Zephyr would technically have an opp att against the snake-arm, but it would be at disadvantage and no weapon...))
((Ulmwin will make it to behind Holger and alongside Maji with his regular move, so has action/bonus action to do whatever you'd like. You'd have visual on the swarm of snakes at Holger's feet, and the skeleton in front of him. Any ranged attacks will have disadvantage because the swarm is in Holger's space, and thus adjacent, but you could have stopped 5 ft short, but won't have visual on the skeleton then. If you want to shoot the skeleton, it will also have partial cover from Holger.))

Holger shields himself just in time, the pair of skeletal heads snapping at but skidding off the sheen of purple that covers him as he starts to rise into the air...

Re: The Sundered Way
Holger continues to rise, the swarm of snakes snapping at his feet, but his shield does its job.
Swarm: : 1D20+6 = [10]+6 = 16
Swarm: : 1D20+6 = [10]+6 = 16
((You wouldn't have been able to have a readied action, as you were dashing, but you've arrived on scene and can do stuff. The above is changed now that Holger saw fit to levitate... You now have a clear shot at the swarm, without disadvantage if you stop short of being adjacent to them, or clear shots at disadvantage against either swarm or skeleton if you step up next to them. The swarm is made up of tiny snakes all squirming about, you'd be able to reason that shooting a bolt into their midst might hit a few, but not be likely to take them all out in one go.))spiderwrangler wrote:((Ulmwin will make it to behind Holger and alongside Maji with his regular move, so has action/bonus action to do whatever you'd like. Re: The Sundered Way
Ulmwin leans around Maji and fires off a bolt at the swarm of snakes, but it skitters off the stone and files distant into the room.
Zihuassal moves to the side and extends a finger towards the opening from the ramp... waiting.
Maji shoots out a thorny vine, but the snakes are tiny and many, and it snaps at nothing but air and stone, the snakes avoiding his grasp.
The skeleton with a snake head moves up next to the entrance to the ramp, scimitar at the ready.

Re: The Sundered Way
Holger will stab the skeleton with his daggers, using tide of chaos on his primary attack
I'm assuming I'm still within melee range of the skeleton as it can hit me, otherwise I'll just use a fire bolt at the swarm instead.
Holger daggers: 2D20.HIGH(1)+5 = [5, 14]+5 = 19
1D20+5 = [6]+5 = 11
Dagger damage: 1D4+3 = [1]+3 = 4
1D4 = [2] = 2
Fire bolt damage:1D10 = [9] = 9
((Given that it is a swarm of snakes it might have some damage immunities or resistances to physical damage. I know they at least used to have it in 3.5 so they likely kept it in some way.))
