Yep, Coljin has the channel divinity healing, but he already used it today.
Coljin still has hit dice to use on a short rest.

Maji used one so he has one remaining. Though...I am mot entirely sure of you accidently skipped it or not since you said earlier that Maji had 8 hp remaining?spiderwrangler wrote:Of those in need of HP, who has hit dice left on the day? Remember that the plants can use the main entrance ramp though, while we're stuck following the corridor around.
Nem should have 1 hit die left at least but I'll check.

I don't think that even matters much to be honest. It's the staircases, which Spider has said take at least 15 minutes each, not to mention they'd not be sending a dispatcher straight after us, cuz we'd just kill it if we see it. (That's what that one little blight is for- Scouting. We should kill it...)

I suspect that the tree got alternative ways to call back reinforcement than sending messengers

mmm... vibrations through the ground or something.
anyway, since we have another option on the table, shall we vote again?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Perhaps, but then we arrive back to the point of "Why hasn't it done that already"- Surely, wiping out the whole first floor would be more than enough cause for a "we need to protect the leader" command... So anything that was "readily available" was likely already on the second/third floor- If more is coming, it'd probably have been long coming, and what is 1 hour difference going to make realistically when we've already been down here for almost a day? 8 on the other hand would probably be enough for some outside help/potentially even creating new blights.
Actually, thinking about it, there is one point that might be important to consider... Spider, how late would it be about now?
Anyways, my vote is still on 3, 1 close second. 2 a definite no, 4 a probably not worth it... I will add that I think the "protection party" for the resting party should be positioned somewhere where they can watch the stairs leading down.

3. Short rest: 1 (M0rtimer)

True, I just have a feeling that a short rest will still let reinforcements in to make this tougher and I'm not convinced we really need to wait.

I'm in the same boat as you Thinks and if Coljin can activate the dagger next turn then the short rest will be for nothing if it does as expected.

Also! thurs-sun I will be at Gencon. So probably won't post here while I am there. What we do will change what maji will do...

Huh.
Well, I guess depending on how long this healing cloud lasts, we might not need that short rest after all.

I'll also drop the reminder that the party has found a single scroll with a copy of the spell Identify on it. Ulmwin is the only one who is currently capable of casting the spell, but if you felt strongly about identifying any of the other items you have, you could burn the scroll on doing so.

We should definitely waste use it on Ulmwin's ring... If only because I rolled so horribly on trying to figure it out I have no clue.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I think we should probably do that... I don't have any preference for which item gets ID'd.
Or we hoard it forever and ever until someone picks up ritual caster...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I will offer the free info that the dagger probably would have been the best use of the identify spell of the 'new' magic items you've found, though between Holger and Coljin, they managed to figure it out and get it to work without it!
While having someone in the party to be able to cast Identify would be handy, right now that's limited to Ulmwin and anyone planning on taking a class archetype that gives them access to wizard spells, or someone takes the feat that lets them pick it up as a ritual. However, as long as you guys make it back to Circle Vale, at least Father Ashmamsuit is able to cast it as a ritual (as he did on the Aberration Stone).

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
It'd probably be fitting enough for Ulmwin, he already has two ritual spells as is- Could probably offload them to that feat... If he'd had the skills to take it.
(I'd like to argue that the feat is racist against sorceresses and bards, excluding charisma and taking only wisdom/intelligence )

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, the Charisma character's route to extra rituals or cross-class spells needs a 3 level dip into Warlock for Tome Pact and Book of Ancient Secrets, but then they count as Warlock spells and don't use original class ability scores.

You mean the ritual caster feat? You can choose Sorceror / Bard / Warlock as your ritual list:

But you need 13 in either INT or WIS to take the feat.

Ooooooh! Gotcha.
I guess it kind of makes sense for INT since you need to be literate to use a book... Not sure how the WIS fits into that.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Probably because INT alone seems way too restrictive, but might be able to make a case for being perceptive and having an eye for detail... oh, this swoop of the rune needs to be just so... and this line bisects that one, but not this one... I might be reaching there...
