Looking back, only one person has put themselves up for the new character, so if you've posted and would like a chance to play, please say so here by this time tomorrow :)

I'd said I'd need more to go on. I don't see the method of play mentioned in the Altogetha thread, while it does look interesting.

Well, it's more or less like an ECR or LSN dungeon game.
Clan Altogetha is a special clan, where different races not only mix together peacefully, but co-operate tightly with great benefits to everyone.
So far we have:
Sees... (I forgot the rest, sorry) the goblin teller (apprentice!),
Trapdodger the kobold "rougue"
RedSoul the salamander "wizard"
and LicksFrost the hobgoblin berserker.

You pretty much get a move and an action each turn (though I think you can swap them around) and we're in this dungeon to find a cure for the clan senior teller "ouchie ..." (I forgot the rest, again.) who is wounded or sick or something (fuzzy memory and no forum to read it up  ) ...
The characters got different stats (atk, def, HP) each, according to their race and they have and can gain new abilities.
New abilities are usually learned by reading a "book of tricks". They come in various colors and we have yet to figure out what they all mean. For example: A white book read by the teller gave him better healing power.
You go around and kill hostile stuff. You check out the dungeon interior and loot stuff and get hit by traps (unless the kobold is faster and disarms it first ;) ) and all of that.

Is that enough information for you, Dave?

Perhaps not enough to generate a character, but enough to generate interest.

*headdesk* Very sorry about that, people who came to the forums recently, probably can't know about them yet. I apologize most sincerely. :)

LSN aka. LoneStarNorth
and
ECR aka. EvilCoatrack

Luckily the keenspot forums are still around.

Oh, you don't get to create/choose your character. But neither did you in any of the LSN or ECR games, if memory serves me... ;)

Rolling d%s, the winner with 84 is gamecreator!

The character will be a gnoll, which in the Altogetha universe are distantly related to the goblinoids, especially the kobolds.

You have a choice of playing the character more like a ranger, a barbarian or a paladin: (that's all the information I'm willing to give at this point, but it has to do with the ability book Battlefrog found).

Please post a name, a colour and a class preference in the next few days before the main game restarts on Monday.

The rules and background to the Main game are now in the first post of the main game thread, and I'll follow them with a full map of the first section when imgur stops its tomfoolery :)

Lastly, for everyone else, there may be more opportunities to play characters in Clan Altogetha in the future, either as a new character or to cover player off days, but for now I've enjoyed doing Battlefrog, so if you guys would like continue, I'll carry on running it.

Peace ^^

So, I guess, Runsaround wins.

Also Jibjib may want to revise this result.

Sorry! I've been up for 31 hours

That result works fine too, if Runsaround is ok with that?

Checking back, I wrote down gamecreator instead of runsaround, so s'all good :P

Hey guys, if you've got a moment I'd like your input into a possible continuation of Battlefrog.

For example, would you like Battlefrog to collect power ups? More characters/enemies? The one that's stumping me is what the objective would be, or what incentive there would be to play.

If you'd like to carry on with new maps, or if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks :)

Quick question:
Is this a new game seperated from clan altogetha? or is it still a game that has with that to do?
if A) How long do you want to run it?
if B) What are the result you aim for (what do you want to give a character this time, items? powers? or?)

It would be a separate game to Clan Altogetha, and I'd run it maze by maze as long as people still wanted to play.

Battlefrog should be more adaptive, gaining xp to increase it's abilities. For example additional LOS or fighting skill. Plus maybe make it more 'Battle'.

okay...
Hmm... you could add an offensive.
For one idea... you could do it so that battle frog can destroy an opponent by sacrificing X move points (where X is a random roll form letÔÇÖs say 1-10 or whatever you like) this is a gamble, especially with new enemies that you donÔÇÖt know how many moves takes when hit...

just 0.20

BF can use 1 powerup at a time, and can ID a powerup by being next to it. This then gives tactical options for when BF wants certain powerups. The goal as always should be to escape the maze. Obviously, maze design becomes important (where BF could go, enemies, powerups, etc). You may want to steal the maze type from LAYFs Dungeon of Horror where walls are just lines. BF probably needs health or lives in order to have encouters with enemies be meaningful, yet still have life/time pressure to leave the maze.

Give BF a health of 10, and a base attack of 1. Powerup can change both and add def of 1. Enemies die when their health reaches 0, and BF can keep hitting them so long as BF is getting through their def. BF might need a def of 1 some time to pass a trap area. Traps could do damage per square. And if you want to be kind, if BF's health reaches zero the maze level resets. That way you can be tough and players can learn. So long as you provide some way that BF can win, the players will eventualy find it.
