Bjorn recalls Nape and walks over to shake Koa's hand as he concedes.

"Well, I guess all that practice finally let your skiploom get his aim and power right! I'm surprised we lasted so long! Well done."

"Heh, yeah, thanks for being such a good sport about it!" Koa replies and shakes Bjorn's hand gladly. "Other than your spider, your two other ones looked pretty tough - they'd have probably given me a hard time if not for Loto."

Everyone

Once again, as the round comes to a close, things seem to be very similar as the usual rounds- The trainers once again guided to the healing stations and nurses, before being led to the private stands where they and the other ranks can watch the battles. The main difference this time around however is that, with time already having past into the afternoon, a few tables have been laid out with varying kinds of sandwiches. Most of the trainers seem reluctant about grabbing one for the longest time, only a few brave ones sneaking off with one, before eventually the coordinator of earlier in the day arrives and confirms the trainer's suspicions.

"Alright- First off for those sneaky buggers among you who already ran off with one... No worries! The sandwiches here are free to take- Courtesy of Mr. Sinclar and the rest of the League. If you want to go out to the stands and grab yourself a hotdog or something, you're free to do so as well- You can enter the main stands through the hall-way. Make sure you bring along your pokedex if you do though! We've got League personnel checking those before you can enter again. As a matter of fact, the waiting rooms should NOT be used to leave behind your stuff! We can't guarantee someone will try and steal it people, carry it with you."

"Additionally, for those of you who have sadly been removed from the tourney board... Firstly, don't worry- You may still take pleasure of this little private wing to watch the battles, and for that measure the sandwiches here. However, I've been asked to request that you refrain from entering the waiting rooms, and preferably only go back down to retrieve your pokemon once they are healed. I'd like to take this time to also mention I've been requested to remind you all to respect the zoning the personnel have laid out- If you're not allowed to go somewhere, that's for a good reason, and you should respect that."

"Anyways, all that being said... I hope you all continue to have fun!"
the coordinator says, as the trainers start using the break to chat among each other and share how they've been doing- Elias in fact sliding next to Isabella as she's in the full progress of stuffing down free sandwiches.

"So... tournament treating you well so far, m'dear?"

"Well... I had hoped for better. Expected better too. But right now I just gotta lose one more time and I'm out as well- I should probably have done some more training..." she says- Only giving a very brief look of acknowledgment to Elias as she seems more enamored by the bacon sandwich.

However, their break and chatter had only just begun when a small commotion among the other trainers appears - As a few trainers turn to look to see what it is about, they spot a familar face shaking hands with some of the trainers and having a friendly, although very brief discussion - The elite four member making a bee-line for the group of trainers as soon as possible.

"Hello there." Matsudo says, briefly once again interrupted as a few trainers step up and he requests some privacy. "I thought I'd come and quickly check out how you've all been doing. Did you receive your badges yesterday? How's your battles been going? What I've heard you have been competing mostly among each other..." He says, seeming to offer only the slightest of genuine smiles- Barely noticeable, though you suspect that's more of how he is rather than pretending.

"Of course, I'm never just around for posterity's sake so... I was mostly here to mention something to Mr. Clark and Ms. Dove, though the latter doesn't seem to be here?"

"Anyways... I thought I would mention that I have a good friend come over to investigate that... Site you two have discovered, before we officially make it a League business. Now... With what happened there, I'd understand you would say no to the following offer- Know I have absolutely no issue with it, and that it shouldn't cause any issue... But if you'd wish, I could arrange for the possibility of you to escort him there. I'd make sure you're compensated, of course."

Irene

As this is going on with the others, Irene had called the number Mr. Gray had provided her- Soon calling him about that talk.
"Well... Yes, this is that break Ms. Dove. I'm sorry, I was saying that it really was not a huge problem, but you hung up before I got the chance. Anyways, come meet me with the nurses- I'll arrange a room in the back so we can have some privacy in the matter." he offers - Irene undoubtedly picking him up on that offer as they meet, soon going into one of the side rooms - A rather large room, seeming to serve mostly as a dressing room rather than anything else.

"My apologies- With where we are right now, an proper office to do this talk in is not as straightforward as one would hope..." He says- Setting himself down on one of the benches, inviting Irene to sit on the bench across him.

"So miss Dove... What exactly did you wish to talk about?"

"Well, I... I just can't believe I'm a psychic... I mean I've never moved things by looking at them, never saw the future, never read minds... and I'm not a genius either, I tend to get B's and C's in school, except for gym class, and pokemon studies." Irene pauses and takes a breath her voice wavering slightly at the end. "But if I do have them, and have been using them, how do I stop? I'm guessing I haven't used them again probably since we're talking here, but one was a fight were I held myself back, and got my pokemon hurt, and lost. And the recent fight my pokemon somehow managed to counter the entire team. I can't fight half-heartedly my friends deserve better, but if it's my passion that caused them... should I drop out? or is there some way to seal my powers? I'm just not sure what to do..." at this Irene finally falls silent looking at Mr. Gray where it was clear her eyes were still puffy from the crying she had done earlier.

Koa is in the middle enjoying his free sandwich when Matsudo comes around. He just smiles and chews, sitting at a bench and waving with his meal in hand.

"I thought I'd come and quickly check out how you've all been doing. Did you receive your badges yesterday? How's your battles been going? What I've heard you have been competing mostly among each other..."

Koa takes a big swallow before speaking. "Mmm-yeah, I got all my stuff. And I've been doing great in the tournament so far - I think I'm at the top with Izzy right now!"

Koa's smile fades as Matsudo presents his offer. "Oh him? I met up with him the day before last, at the market. I told him about the place and I thought he checked it out already...? I mean he seemed like he went to go look at it right away. I even offered to help him find it, and he said no at the time."

If Matsudo cares to look, Koa's openly thinking about Jack and Fatale, and even now is deliberating on if he should go meet up with them or see if he can make it all the way in this tournament....

Phoenix walks into the room and for about a half-a-second he refrains from taking a sandwich. He then hears a loud growling sound from his stomach. Alright, here goes nothing. He walks up and grabs one, eating it quickly. Once he hears that they are for everybody, he quickly grabs two more, giving one with meat to Spot. Once he finishes he waits a few minutes and, waiting till nobody was looking, sneaks a few more into his bag, hoping that nobody notices. Even if they do, he thinks, they shouldn't care. They have plenty.

Bjorn is late from getting back from the pokecenter - dammit, always seem to be last around here! - and sees the tray of sandwiches have been tackled with some gusto, helped partly by one of the other League Trainers shovelling them into his bag. Bjorn walks up and gets two himself, but turns a blind eye to Phoenix's pilfering while giving a grin and heads off to sit down, with a nod to Matsudo when he does his rounds.

Midway through chatting with Drake, Izzy spots the table of food, and simultaneously feels her stomach grumble unhappily - excusing herself, she quickly scoots over to grab some sandwiches, before they all get taken by the other greedy trainers. She also nabs a couple for her team, saving a particularly juicy looking tuna one for when Kay is done being healed. Then, on her way back to her seat, she overhears Matsudo talking to Koa, and stops to listen in on their conversation.

Following the announcement that the sandwiches are fair game, Alex picks one up at random and moves away to eat it, putting himself in a corner where he can see the rest of the arena.

Drake was in no hurry to get a free sandwich, not really considering the fact that they would get ripped away by others. Ghos on the other hand is his ever perceptive self, decides to go invisible while floating to the sandwiches as he notice just how fast they are ripped away. To prevent them all from being taken Ghos reappears giving one sandwich a good lick.
Drake facepalms in the corner before getting up and slowly go to the table and picking up a slightly moist sandwich that got left behind with Ghos giving him a big grin for saving him a sandwich.

When Matsudo arrives, Drake carefully watches and listen to Matsudo, though he figures it's not really intended toward him or the other league trainers that wasn't mentioned, for now at least.

In case Matsudo decides to read Drakes mind he tries to just force one sentence up. Hey there, I guess privacy is a lost privilege

James

James starts the round with much gusto - Going for a large gamble with Kale, throwing everything he's got at it for a massive appeal gain.

The other contestants can't quite keep up though they definitely seem to try. As Pryce's fletchinder starts flying about pecking, showing how tough he is- And managing to excite the female judge in the process!

"Look at that tough little birdie!"

He is followed by Candice, as the little dwebble burrows down into the sand slightly, seemingly preparing for a big reveal next round.

Roark meanwhile, seems to follow in her footsteps- Although doing it by a matter of speed rather than hiding.

And finally, Sabrina closes this round- Deciding to sabotage all in front of her with a ferocious display, as James gains 8 fumble points!

Everyone

Most ignore Matsudo as he arrives, either seeming more preoccupied with the many, many sandwiches, or simply not having anything to say, giving only a nod of acknowledgement. Still, Koa is there to answer his question - As most can't help but overhear their conversation.

"Mmm-yeah, I got all my stuff. And I've been doing great in the tournament so far - I think I'm at the top with Izzy right now!"

"Congratulations. Maybe you'll even get a chance to face Eliza in the finals if you keep that up, hm? If not, no foul. I'm sure with some training you'll be able to beat her challenge regardless."

"Oh him? I met up with him the day before last, at the market. I told him about the place and I thought he checked it out already...? I mean he seemed like he went to go look at it right away. I even offered to help him find it, and he said no at the time."

As Koa answers his follow-up question however, the light mood seems to shift. Matsudo's eyes widen and soon his face turns into a worried grimace as it becomes more than clear that something isn't right.

"...The person in question isn't set to arrive until tomorrow."

"Who did you tell about this?"
He asks- As Koa can feel a slight presence, as if to gather more information- Drake notices it happening, seeing the residue left behind in what appears to take the shape of a purple lazy eye - Although he doesn't seem to be monitoring Drake's thoughts, or at the very least paying absolutely no mind to them.

Irene

"Well, I... I just can't believe I'm a psychic... I mean I've never moved things by looking at them, never saw the future, never read minds... and I'm not a genius either, I tend to get B's and C's in school, except for gym class, and pokemon studies."

"Well, if it's doubt that you're worried with, I can guarantee you that you do possess some manner of abilities... With that being said, I suppose it's understandable that it's hard to believe at first. There are often misconceptions about it however. Psychic energy is one of the most versatile there is. It's a common trait that many of these psychics have a greater than average intelligence, but it is by no means the norm."

"Neither do all psychic powers manifest in the common causes such as telepathy or telekinesis, or as you mention augury. And most psychics aren't really aware of them using their powers as they start to manifest. Telepaths have the greatest issue with that... I'll leave you to figure out why."

I'm just not sure what to do..."

"No, no, absolutely not..." The man begins comforting, though seeming to mull on the question for a bit. "As to give a definite answer to your question, that's a lot harder... Especially since I'm not a psychic myself. From what I've been told though, when you originally manifest your abilities you pull from them subconciously. You really wish for something to happen, and your power allows it. A simple example would be that something would just be out of your reach while you're manifesting telekinetic powers- And you'd unwittingly pull it closer to you."

"Of course, yours is far less obvious. From what I noticed, earlier today what you did was... Distort probability- Your pokemon was likely to shoot wide, and with a mental nudge you could try and push that in the right direction. It's one of the rarer powers. People with such ability sometimes develop the ability to manipulate space to an even greater effect. Actual teleportation being one of the abilities they might develop."

"...I don't know about you, but that for me sure sounds like a good enough deal to not want to give up on these powers."

"If you'd truly want to, though, yes... There are ways to seal psychic powers. But not on such short notice I'm afraid. So for now, to prevent you from using your abilities again... When you have that pull to try and change something for a better outcome- Try and ignore it. For now at least."

"U-uhm... Jack Schwarz and Fatale? He said he got called in to help deal with all the ghosts, so... shouldn't he be here for the tournament?" Koa looks about the immediate area with this realization. He hadn't seen Jack around today, actually....

"Well... he asked about Grim, and I told him what we know. Then he asked about the site, and I told him how to find it...."

Koa shifts uncomfortably in his seat, recognizing a familiar weight of having his head peered into. Flashes of Jack and Fatale go through his head, along with a creeping and unsure sense of guilt. They seemed like they were alright people... weren't they? Koa tries to rack his brain on if Jack had seemed like he was acting suspicious at all, and Koa just didn't have reason to suspect at the time.

Izzy scrunches up her face in confusion as Koa mentions these people knowing an "Isabella". She didn't know anyone called "Jack Shwarts" or "Fatal", did she? Then she realises that Koa was probably talking about the other Isabella, and goes back to munching on her sandwiches, completely oblivious to the tension in the situation.

Elias offers Matsudo a slight, courteous bow, before finding the fanciest sandwhich available (that has not been licked by a ghost) and grabbing it from himself. He then takes small bites from it as he listens in (it was rather hard not to).

Drake feels slightly nervous as Matsudo becomes a bit more tense with Koa's answers. He walks a bit closer while he tries to figure out how he should interrupt and offer his service if it's required to act now on these mysterious strangers. It wasn't like this tournament meant a lot to Drake.

James

James has Kale go for a simple, although steady performance.

Pryce seems to have bigger plans however - At least for the next round, as the fletchinder starts speeding up in preparation for the event.

Sabrina meanwhile, after her sabotaging last round decides to try and gamble for some appeal- Managing to garner some from the effort.

Then come Roark and Candice however- As Roark seems to go for a simple tough appeal, boosted by the archen's speed- Although it seems to be more cool than tough - Performing a combination of a pluck and double team!

Candice meanwhile, grabs the spotlight- As the dwebble bursts from the sand- Going for a desperate series of cuts as she has huge potential to make it. Sadly though, the dwebble trips, and consecutively seems hit by stage-fright, leaving the girl more devastated than proud... Even then however, she seems to have left a lasting impression.

Everyone

Undoubtedly, a few more trainers turn their heads as the conversation seems to heat up- Hard not to, as Matsudo hadn't meant it as a private conversation among the group, although in hindsight he probably would have liked that. As Koa racks his brain on the duo he met a few days ago- He was right, they didn't seem like bad people... But on the same side, why wouldn't he just have asked Matsudo..?

However, as Koa explains he rapidly feels the presence fading as Matsudo comes to realize what's happened- His hand merely moving to his nose, pinching it's bridge in frustration as he mutters. "...Arceus damn it Jack."

"Well, I suppose it's not that bad. I just hope he isn't a complete fool and destroys potential evidence."

"As to answer your question... Yes, Jack was called over here to aid in potential defense. If another ghostly attack were to occur, his strengths could have proven a very valuable asset."

"However, soon after his arrival here he decided that defending his own city was more important, and left the same day."

"Jack has always been a bit of an anarchist... If he had a chance, he'd burn down the way the league currently works and try to replace it with his own- Ignoring the fact he would undoubtedly just make things worse than they might already be. I won't lie the league has wronged him in the past- But I think even he realizes that."

"Even still, he doesn't like to play by the rules and hence he left. Still- He's a valuable asset considering his skills, and at times serves as a good reality check."

"All that being said, I can only fanthom why he wanted to visit that site, besides perhaps placate his paranoia..."
Matsudo says, taking a sigh as he seems to mull over the situation in his mind for a brief moment- Isabella taking the moment to chime in on the matter.

"So... Jack and Isabella were here? Well... I didn't see them." She says, pretending not to care- But soon follows up her statement, now addressing Koa. "Did they ask about me? How was Fatale doing?"

"Anyways- Putting all that besides us." Matsudo continues, seeming to have pushed off the issue for now- Now seeming to address the whole group in general rather than the conversation with Koa- But also taking another look around, as if to make sure nobody else but them was chiming in.

"I... Simply figured I should ask, just in case, but... Have any of you noticed anything suspicious?"

Irene

"Because they can't separate thoughts from actualy words?"

"Hah. Among others- Accidentally hearing others thoughts and answering them, or thinking their own a bit too loud."

"Needless to say, telepaths have some of the least dignified starts with their abilities..."

"That sounds very convenient actually."

"I have no doubt it is."

"Well I didn't mean forever, just for the rest of the tournament, if I have them... even if they're bizarreand make me a freak I should learn to co-" Irene begins- Interrupted by the man across her before she can continue. "Miss Dove, allow me to make one thing very clear- You are NOT a freak."

"You are right that for a very long time, there has been a stigma against psychics. This was because some people with abilities after the war had... Left a sour taste in the mouth of people. Not a topic to dwell on too long, but you seem like a smart enough girl to know why."

"But psychics have existed since the dawn of time. So have elementalists, if with greater rarity. They are by no means a freak. The league has been attempting to break that stigma over the last couple years... Nowadays, you would likely have no clue if you'd walk next to a 'freak' as you'd put it..."

ÔÇ£Shoot the dictator and prevent the war? But the dictator is merely the tip of the whole festering boil of social pus from which dictators emerge; shoot him and there'll be another one along in a minute. Shoot him too? Why not shoot everyone and invade Poland?ÔÇØ
