Thanks for the explanation, TheGreatOldOne.

I see Duke made a blog post about Thunt's condition. (Thanks, Duke.) That should get the message out to most people who only check the front page.

Thunt's surgery went well. He's in the recovery room. Will be transferred back to the ICU later today.

Just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Thunt. He sounded good. (Notably, he wasn't well enough for company before today.)

Doc says the surgery went well and the fistula is all fixed and none of this should recur. The hemorrhage (which was in a different part of the brain) seems to be healing as well. He's lucky they caught the fistula because they wouldn't have found it without a high definition scan, and it could have killed him at any time. It's a relief to have that fixed.

He's feeling a lot better, but still has to rebuild his strength and such. So they're keeping him in the hospital for rest and observation. But he's hoping to be able to go home in the not too distant future.

He was really grateful for the balloon and everything.

This fistula business feels like hearing on the news that a dangerous criminal has been gunned down before he killed any hostages. Such a dangerous force was lingering unknown for so long; and just as soon as we hear about the threat, it's been resolved.

Hey everyone, I was discharged today and I'm on route, headed home. Had to get some pretty hardcore brain surgery, but I emerged unscathed (other than some icky scars). I can't really walk under my own power yet and I'm still in a lot of pain, but I'll soon be at 100%.

Been sitting in the car, reading your well wishes for the first time and I couldn't stop a few tears from coming. Thank you so much, everyone. You're beyond amazing. Once I'm home and have had a bit of time to rest up, I'll write a blog explaining all the details of what happened

ETA:

There was a quiet night in the hospital that @DragonTurtle and I were pretty certain that I wasn't going to survive this, so with her phone, she recorded me telling her some of the future Goblins scenes that she didn't have all the details on. That way it could be completed.

Her and I kept breaking down in tears as I spoke, thinking these might be our last moments together. Maybe I'll make it public after the comic passes those scenes.

I am glad things seem to have worked out. Here's hoping it stays that way. I'm sure their pets will be happy to see them again, too. :)

Speedy recovery (and not because I want the comic to progress, but because he shouldn't suffer health issues any longer than necessary) to him.

So that Onyx stuff that Thunt has in his brain now, the stuff it's made of (EVOH) is used pretty extensively in food packaging. If he starts rambling about food packaging and oxygen barriers... WE KNOW WHY.

I know, right? It's like coming into your home after renovations, and the builder going "Oh, and also there was asbestos, but we took care of that while you were gone.".

Thanks for the continued updates.

Is anyone able to contact Matt? Because I'm sure (some) people who only read the IndieGoGo page would love to get news about Thunt being sent home after the surgery went well, too.

Jeez he really does have shitty health luck alright.

At least it's all worked out okay now (ish)

Let's hope for a speedy recovery (and maybe make him slow down and not burn the candle at both ends and the middle)

The way he avoids sleep sometimes can't be good for him.
