Year 1, month 1, week 3

Post by Nerre » Tue Aug 20, 2013 3:50 am

Year 1, month 1, week 3:
"chance of tremor x 3."

Events:
- the fire on the burning fire spreads.
- the earthquakes get stronger for a while, you notice new cracks appearing.
- the tree is cut in halv. The top falls into the lava, the trunk tilts and lies flat on the rock, save from the flames.

Image

Bob:
Bob and Understands keep chopping the trunk in halves, while the others rescue the last goblin. After they are back, the finish their work and the burning top crashes down into the lava. This causes the trunk to tilt until it lies flat on the rock. The chop away 2 blocks and gain 8 lumber each.

Kach:
Kach drags the hobgoblin to the left shore, after he noticed he is still alive. While Kach asks the others what they should do with him, the hobgoblin remains unconscious for this turn.

Mint:
Mint keeps collecting cooked fish in the water. He finds 3 of them and brings them to the shore.

Tar:
Tar dives close to the tree in the pond, collecting 2 seaweed. He also notices a vein of copper and iron below the water surface. Those will be tricky to mine.

Understands:
Bob and Understands keep chopping the trunk in halves, while the others rescue the last goblin. After they are back, the finish their work and the burning top crashes down into the lava. This causes the trunk to tilt until it lies flat on the rock. The chop away 2 blocks and gain 8 lumber each.

Zaul:
Zaul, with the help of worker 2, manages to save the last goblin and climb back, just in time before the tree is cut in half and the burning top crashes down into the lava. This causes the trunk to tilt until it lies flat on the rock. The worker looks fine, only a few light burns.
Zaul and worker 2 saved worker 3 (constructling)

Worker 1:
Tries to help to chop the tree in halves, but he got no tool.

Worker 2:
Helps Zaul save worker 3.

Discoveries:

Information:
- all 7 constructlings eat this turn (5 players, 2 NPC). All 2 minelings eat this turn (1 player, 1 NPC). 9 food is consumed.

Bob jumps down and starts swimming to the other side of the pool. If he can still act when he reaches the other side, he will try to climb on the tree. "I'm going on that tree, perhaps there is something of interest in there..."

You will need at least one other person to help you to climb that high. You can only climb 4 blocks on your own. Once you reach the branches, you are fine.

Bob, you could climb the mountain and then jump to the tree. (just a suggestion)

Tar will dive down and attempt to catch more fish.

I vote for the NPC mineling to start trying to mine a tunnel between the water and the fire. (perhaps the fire/lava could be extinguished.)

Also, I suggest that we feed the minelings (NPC and LAYF) with priority over the constructling NPC's as we only have 2 miners.

That would work, as there is no steeper part than 4 pixels up at once. :)

@BadgeAddict: The rest of the fish is still alive, not cooked by the vulcano. That is why they are white/grey and not red (and moving, there weren't any in the large pond last turn).

I realize hey are still alive (thats why I said "Catch"), as for cooking them, perhaps we can poke them on a stick and hold it over the fire.

After everyone is safe (as safe as you can be on the side of an active volcano), Zaul turns his attention to unconscious hobgoblin. "We can't leave hobgoblin alive. I don't think we got enough food for him." Then Zaul gives his saw to worker 3 and tries to treat his own wounds.

Vote for worker 3:

Not only can't we feed him, but we can eat him. Tar stares hungrily at the hobgoblin's body, imagining it to be a yummy steak.

Important: None of the workers have tool, consider this when you asign them to something. Worker 3 is now equipped, but the others not.

I hope you don't plan to use your hatchet on the tree that bob is about to climb. Besides, if it happens to be a fruit bearing tree (though it looks like a pine) I wouldn't like to see it come down.

(personally, I think we need to somehow get off this volcano)

Kach looks at Zaul and Tar "You might be right, but he's also the biggest beast of burden we have... If we starve him he wont be able to make an uproar all by himself, but can still be used to pull and lift stuff for us... and if he dies?.... still food right? if one of you would help me a bit here...."

Kash mines 3 blocks left in to the volcano, the on down just outside that.. drags the hobgoblin in there and places lumber down as bars in-front of the make shift prison...

Prison design:

Code: Select all

#####
#####
## L
#####L###
#########

# = Ground.
L = Lumber bars.

@Nerre:
What do we remember about the Hobgoblin... personalty, strength and such?

Agressive, stronger than orcs, with orcs already being much stronger than goblins. They enslaved your race, not caring about your race being related to theirs. They rule over goblins, so expect him to give you commands. And he rather would let you fight for him than the other way around. It needs at least 3-4 strong goblins to keep and hobgoblin busy, even more to take him down. Not that many goblins would ever dare, since normally there is more than one hobgoblin overseer around. But not here. If somebody is armed, this might shift the odds. And they are large, you need at least 3 blocks of space to build a prison.

He is an overseer and commands you. One amongst others, you do not know much personally about him except the type of insults he uses on you. You might hear some names from time to time, but you got no relationship with them that would requiere you to learn them.

Year 1, month 2, week 1

Post by Nerre » Wed Aug 21, 2013 5:19 am

Year 1, month 2, week 1:
"all lava and similar reservoirs rise by 1d3 blocks."

Events:
- lava reservoirs rise by 2 blocks except where it flows out and directly down the mountain.
- the hobgoblin, once in the prison, awakes and complains, also he is demanding food.

Image

Bob:
Bob climbs up the hill left of the last tree, aiming to jump into the tree. He succeeds and finds a bird nest, with eggs worth 2 food.

Kach:
Kach, concerned about the hobgoblin, starts mining a prison for him by destroying 4 stones. Then he and Understands move the hobgoblin into the prison.

Mint:
Mint joins worker 3 and chops log from the fallen tree. He chops 2 blocks and gains 8 lumber.

Tar:
Tar dives and tries to catch one of the fish. But below the water it is to fast for him to catch. Even if he cought it with it's hand, it might just wiggle free, being slippery like it is.

Understands:
Understands brings enough log to Kach so they can build a lid large enough to trap the hobgoblin. Then he and Kach move the hobgoblin into the prison.

Zaul:
Zaul gives his saw to worker 3 and tries to take care of his wounds. While he does not suceed, he did learn a few things, increasing his knowledge about healing.

Worker 1:
He relaxes, with no task given to him. At least by that he is able to save his energy and does not need to eat.

Worker 2:
He relaxes, with no task given to him. At least by that he is able to save his energy and does not need to eat.

Worker 3:
After he received the saw, he starts to cut down the tree trunk into nice pieces of lumber. With the saw being more efficient than a hatchet, he turns 4 blocks of log into 16 units of lumber.

Discoveries:
- workers without a task to do relax and don't need food.

Information:
- 6 constructlings eat this turn (5 players, 1 NPC). 6 food is consumed.
- the lid of the prison requieres 9 lumber so it fits into the empty block and to be sturdy enough to withstand the hobgoblin.
